Loren H Atherly, a native of Atlantic City, NJ. Mr. Atherly attended grade school in the Pleasantville School District system and graduate from Egg Harbor Township High School. Mr. Atherly fulfilled his desire in the culinary arts and graduated from the Academy of Culinary Arts. Presently, Loren is a chef for the State of New Jersey for the Juvenile Justice Commission. He works to provide meals for juvenile residents as a profession but also mentors troubled youth and gives them tools to better themselves. Loren’s passion to help youth extends out of work by his honorable volunteering efforts at the Peace Amongst Youth, a non-profit organization that provides various community services in the Atlantic County area. Mr. Atherly’s approach to helping youth is remarkable, using his experience in the culinary arts is just one. Evidence of Loren’s impact of mentoring youth in his community is shown by the many examples of individuals following his foot steps by becoming involved in the culinary industry. His never quit attitude is also a shinning example of what it takes to Empower the Dream...we salute him.
